I like returning to the grid in my paintings because it allows me to design algorithms that can generate countless compositions and color combinations, even if I may never get to realize most of them physically. Of course, my art ends up looking a bit digital or pixelated which relates to my training in geographic information science. My works of the last two years are like maps of randomness, a great generator of new varieties of experience.
